I was able to give my presentation on Tuesday April 24th, it went okay. I feel it could have went better, I think I just need more presentation practice. :) This is finals week so there is a lot going on, and I am also organizing a fashion show in May for an art collective that I belong to. I am looking at which classes to take over the summer. I will keep it low key as there is travel on the roster. Then fall classes will be another full (for me) load. I will complete my requirements at Front Range after Spring semester 2013. After that I will be transferring to a 4 year. Currently, I am considering UNC, it may change though as I am also talking to Regis. I suppose it depends on which school has the best program for me to meet my goals.
Today I finished my webfolio, I have practiced my presentation that I will be giving on Tuesday of this week. I am nervous, of course, but I feel it is a good presentation and I will do fine. I am sad for this class to be finished, I look forward to more of its nature. I really enjoyed this semester, my observation at Horizon High School and all of the interesting information I have learned. It has also been a busy art semester, learning new techniques and collaborating with other local artists for community projects has been time consuming but well worth the effort.
Today I am writing my Philosophy of Education, authoring this web-folio, creating a presentation on my practicum observation and of course this blog entry. I feel I have grown a lot in my understanding of what it means to become a teacher. Although it is still very far away for me, I feel it is a reality that will come to fruition. I mentioned my observation because it is almost complete as well. I will miss the students and being part of their classroom, albeit for only one day a week. My visits have become part of my routine, and it feels like the students are just warming up to me.
I am looking forward to more experiences like this and eventually teaching in my own classroom. What an exciting journey! |
