The following documents are descriptions of my experience with extra curricular activities at Fort Collins high school during this semester. In all I attended two events, one meeting and assisted in AVID classes. I intend on being more involved in future school settings, I will not have as many outside obligations to contend with. I really enjoyed attending these events and being involved with the school and the students.

She Kills Monsters- 4-27-2017
On Friday night, I attended a Tower troupe production at Fort Collins high school. The production was a story about teenage grief and coping. The story is told through the means of a popular role playing platform and takes place in the mid-1990's. I felt that the story was definitely relevant, not only to the teens in the production but to most of the audience of peers and parents. There were a few educators in the audience as well.
I know some of the students that performed in the production, one of them is in my AVID group and the others I have seen in classes other than my own. It was really refreshing to see the students in this light. They were all so engaged and convincing in their parts that I almost forgot I was watching students perform. I cannot wait to see some of these students on Tuesday to let them know how impressed I was with their performance. The performance was very mature and addressed many teen issues, such as grief, sexuality, orientation, bullying, maturity, and life after school.
Below is the AVID log for each day attended. Mostly brief observations of participation or general mood of the class.

Rationale:
I believe that these documents example my voluntary involvement with the school and the students outside of a curricular setting. I feel it is important, as I mention in some of my reflections, to see students outside of an academic setting. The perspective of your students is broadened as you see them interact in different ways. Their attitudes are more free, and their focus is social. They look at you in a changed way also, particularly when they realize you volunteered to be there, or you came because you wanted to.
I feel that I have achieved proficient in the leadership standard, I would have liked to attend more events and intend on doing so in the future. The next step for me is to get involved with a club or team. I feel that this would increase connections with students. I feel that it also would increase my pride and enthusiasm for my work and my students.
