Lesson Reflection for Contrast-Pattern Mug-
Thinking about how this lesson was structured, I feel that I should have practiced the action portion of the lesson a little more. It was a little choppy, my intention was to have some transitions in the introduction of the lesson so that the students were not just watching a presentation but getting up and moving around a little to see the demonstration. I also think I could have positioned myself in a more visible place and made sure that no students were stuck behind me. I feel that some of them could not hear me, nor could they see what I was doing when I did the demonstration. Estimating the amount of students who understood the instructions and visibly witnessed the demonstration was about 70% of the class in attendance that day. I did make sure to move through the classroom and check in with each and every student to answer any questions and restate any instructions that they missed.
At the end of the semester I administered a Kahoot in this class regarding this lesson and their opinion of my delivery. The method of data collection could have been reconsidered for a more efficient method. I feel that it was somewhat effective but could have been a lot better. Thinking through it now, I think it would have been better to issue sticky notes and ask for glows and grows. The Kahoot was difficult to get everyone to participate, some students had to use a sticky note to answer the questions any way due to outstanding technical difficulties. Also, I would have preferred their own words in the survey. What I learned from all of this, analog is sometimes the way to go, and I was not as effective in delivering the lesson as I thought. Students I felt a rapport with gave me the worst ratings. I know that you cannot please all of the people all of the time, but it was an eye opener. In the future I will pay more attention to the volume of my voice, my body language and the delivery of instructions.

Rationale and Standard Reflection:
I would place my proficiency with this standard at developing. I feel that I have a grasp on the textbook portion of planning and delivering, but in action may still need some work. I do think that planning and delivering your own lesson makes big difference. Teaching someone else's lesson is more involved. One must consider all parts of the lesson and decide changes that should be made to accommodate learning/teaching style. I feel that this may be one of my 'needs to work on' standards. Mostly in activation of the lesson, making it relevant to the students and being visible. I did see some growth from this lesson to my last lesson at Fort Collins, I felt more in control of myself and where the lesson was going. Crafting your own lesson really makes a big difference. Though I did look to my cooperating teacher for some feedback before teaching, I feel that I was more prepared in that lesson than the clay mug lesson. Thinking back on previous semester's lesson I would say that I have improved even in delivering a lesson I did not create.
I chose these two documents to serve as example and evidence to support my intent to deliver an effective lesson and create an environment that facilitates learning.
