Below you will find my example of a management plan. I believe that student ownership of learning is first and foremost, I also believe that in order to successfully implement any instruction plan you need to create a healthy environment and classroom culture. This sample represents my current view on classroom management and my approach to setting up a positive and productive culture in the studio. I would like to work towards a more student lead learning environment as I progress in experience. I believe that the best educators develop through a cycle of experience, reflection, and action.

Below I have captured the grand rounds experience notes. Teen parents is an issue that cannot be ignored, and in some areas is a rather large portion of the school population. These students need extra support in their education experience. After listening to Ms. Schaefer, I have gained another perspective on teen parents as students. Her advice on how to help these students successfully access the curriculum and become a good parent is valuable. This information has broaden my view and approach to education as well as students as individuals. Coming into this I was very aware of each student being an individual and having their own space within the world, but things like teen parenting were not at the forefront of my thoughts. Now that I am reminded of this reality I will be an advocate for teen parent success, and I will do my best to be involved with their learning and parenting at what ever level is appropriate for each student. For the most part Ms. Schaefer spoke about being aware of your students, their backgrounds and their normal behavior. With this information you can better assess if that student is experiencing difficulty, and offer assistance before problems occur. I believe this should be encompassed by your classroom environment and climate. Relationships are very important in education, this is another example of how building relationships with your students can only improve their learning and development into adulthood. This particular reality is mainly seen at the high school level but there have been some instances in the middle school age as well. I feel that this information would be beneficial for all educators in the secondary system. Even though I did not witness Ms. Schaefer in a classroom setting I found her presentation to be very informative and has enlightened my view as an educator.
Reflection of Standard:
I believe I have reached a proficient level in this standard. I work to include everyone when conducting classroom time, making sure that each student has their voice (in what ever form) heard. It is important to me that all students feel that they are part of the success of the studio as a whole, of their individual education and in their lives as a whole. It is a lot to place on a single portion of the day, such a small part of each student's life, but I hope to breath safety and positive thinking into the studio environment to allow students to create.
